Aujourd’...

The immersive experience of stepping back into the 1920s, combined with the natural beauty, makes it a highly recommended destination. However, some visitors find the admission price steep and have noted issues with restroom cleanliness during peak times.

"Village historique de Val-Jalbert is one of the most fascinating and well-preserved historical sites in Quebec. Visiting feels like stepping back in time to an authentic 1920s village, surrounded by beautiful nature and the impressive Ouiatchouan Falls. The mix of history, culture, and scenery makes it an unforgettable experience.

The site is very well organized, with restored houses, exhibitions, and multimedia presentations that bring the village’s story to life. You can explore freely, take the cable car up to the waterfall lookout, and enjoy stunning panoramic views of the valley and Lac Saint-Jean.

The staff and guides are knowledgeable and friendly, and they do a great job of sharing the fascinating history of the place. There are also restaurants, picnic areas, and charming accommodations in the old-style buildings, making it easy to spend a full day (or even stay overnight) without rushing.

It’s a great experience for families, couples, and history lovers alike. The combination of natural beauty, well-preserved heritage, and peaceful atmosphere makes Val-Jalbert a must-see destination in the Lac Saint-Jean region"

"We slept inside the village and it was brilliant! 4 of us in total, seperate units and wow, its was gorgeous. Being able to walk around before opening and after closing was pure magic! The waterfall is so striking and the food delivers! We will be back!"

"Well I didn't have a very good experience here today. Got here at 10:00 a.m. it was already almost 40°. Cost $52 for one adult to get in. Definitely not worth the price. $30 maybe. The only thing really worth seeing for me was the waterfall and I've seen many I live close to Niagara falls. But I went to use the bathrooms inside the building before I walked out every toilet was almost overflowing with crap and toilet paper. None of them were flushing. So disgusting. They have a big bottle of soap sitting on the counter so I put a bunch of soap on my hands to wash my hands and there was no water coming out of the taps either. So I had to go into the lobby and get her to get me a cloth to wipe my hands with and I made her remove the bottle of soap out of the bathroom so other people don't do the same thing. Don't waste your time going here."
