What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Reviews for St Peter's Anglican Church present a divided picture. While many praise its vital role in community outreach, particularly its extensive food programs for the hungry, others express significant concerns about financial management and recent leadership decisions impacting long-standing community groups.
"Went to this church for 20+ years. The new priest Rick ran into the ground and it's just a shell of its former self. They've made it very clear if you are not donating money to them that you can go to another church. The whole place is falling apart due to ignoring years of repairs. Yet they somehow had 10k to put in glass doors for aesthetic and they were used for maybe a year. Apparently the roof thats about to cave in the literal sanctuary isn't as important. Don't go there because they'll just try and suck you dry for your money (to pay themselves and for very needed glass doors). Extremely poor management over all. Eunice should be ashamed and replaced. Tried to upcharge a group that had been renting their for YEARS from 7k to 14k (senior citizen group for playing boardgames, better scam them too!) Congrats on ruining a huge part of Cobourg's history and making me question I'm actually Christian due to such disgusting behaviour."

"A Church that goes out of it's way to feed the hungry and out cast people of the near vacinity. I personally have been attending the Thursday Evening Dinners for the last two years. I have found it to be a very enjoyable event. As a person that is in a manual wheelchair. Who has paraplegia since 1970. I commend all the staff and volunteers who put on such a large event that feeds approximately 150 to 200 people for dinner and soup lunch that I do not attend. This is a church that Pastor Rick should be proud to be apart off. God Bless Rick."

"It was a decent place until the new minister took over. He flat out called the scout group a parasite on the church and kicked them out. An organization that has been with the church for 108 years. A non profit organization. He would rather have money than help the kids of this community."
