Cumberland, Maryland providing some nice aerial views at sunrise
This is a great photo. I think that's the beginning of the C&O canal trail there, which you can bike or hike all the way to Washington DC.

What is it like to live in Cumberland?
I’m from the Eastern Shore and it has gotten horribly expensive. The Baltimore/DC area is expensive, but at least there are decent paying jobs. I noticed Cumberland is very cheap for Maryland. What is it like to live up there?
Just drove around Salem & Cumberland for the first time…

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the peaceful 1km trail and the important history shared through interpretive signs. The moss-covered forest adds to the relaxing atmosphere, though some note there's little to see physically from the historical period. It's best enjoyed as part of a broader nature walk.
"There are a few interpretation boards telling the history, but little else. There's nothing to see from the period and the boards are placed along a trail with nothing but overgrown/wild plants around. I wouldn't make a special trip unless you were planning on walking the wider forest area. That said, the boards tell an important history that shouldn't be forgotten."
