Reviews Summary

Visitors find the Alberta Aviation Museum charming and surprisingly diverse for its size, featuring a great mix of military and civilian aircraft, plus fascinating artifacts. The flight simulator is a hit with all ages, and the dedication to women in aviation is appreciated. While compact, it offers a rich historical experience.

"The Aviation Museum is small but very charming. Despite its modest size, it features a surprising variety of aircraft - both military and civilian, historic and more modern. You’ll also find plenty of fascinating artifacts such as instruments, engines, and crew equipment, which really bring the history to life. One of the highlights is the flight simulator - it captivates both kids and adults, and it’s hard to resist “taking off” more than once. There’s also a cozy little gift shop where you can pick up a nice souvenir.

It’s truly good to see that a significant part of the collection is dedicated to women in aviation - service members, pilots and flight attendants.

Since the museum is compact, you’ll need about 1.5-2 hours to see everything at a comfortable pace.

Bonus tip: if you’re a new permanent resident or Canadian citizen, you can get free admission through the Canoo app (just make sure to activate your membership)."

"We feel so lucky to have booked the Alberta Aviation Museum for our wedding with amazing staff to work with from planning to the actual day. The historical hangar is large enough for holding the ceremony and the reception for our 280 guests with space for an enormous dancefloor, beautiful entranceway with displays, buffet and candy tables, a foosball table, a basketball game, a claw machine, a large bar, and a photobooth while having the band on the stage. The best part is that the hangar is pet-friendly so our fur babies came to celebrate with us. We rented evaporative coolers which worked really well to keep the temperature down on a hot day. Our guests all commented how beautiful, unique and fun our vintage aviation-themed wedding was."
