"Met friends there for a picnic lunch. It's a bit of a walk from the parking lot.
Parking at the hotel was available as there were very few people around and then walk was easier. Was fun watching a boat come through the lock. Picnic tables were clean and located at good spots for group visiting. Washrooms were available. Beautiful spot and dog friendly.
Only one boat came through the 4 hours we were there."

"Lovely area with a series of interconnected lakes and locks . There isn’t loads to see really but worth a visit if you’re in the area. The hotel near the entrance has a very rustic old world appearance and somewhat mixed online reviews."

Boyd Ringrose

"Amazing location. The biggest locks on the Rideau canal that I've seen. Very beautiful scenery all around. There's also a picturesque but a rather hard trail with lots of bends and climbs and a historic blacksmith house that holds demos of the craft near the locks."
