What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park for its beautiful natural scenery, tranquil atmosphere, and the inviting community around Elkwater Lake. The park offers a great escape for camping, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors. However, some guests have noted issues with insect prevalence, and occasional maintenance concerns with certain facilities like outhouses and camp stores.
"Beautiful place that bridges two Canadian provinces. The community here is so rich and inviting, and the amenities (showers) are present for the most part to enhance your stay. Stayed at Medicine Lodge, and would not recommend this lodge as it was infested with many bugs (horse flies and moths) and does not come with internal lighting. Would recommend to simply camp or find another lodge. Elkwater Lake is beautiful at sunset and the beach area is well maintained as well. There are many POIs to explore in the park. We had a blast and would definitely recommend it as a good vacation spot."

"Beautiful landscape and a great main beach. Good for hiking for all kinds of hiking trails. Shower facilities were excellent. The free mini golf was an added bonus. The camp store, and more importantly maybe, the laundromat, were not functional and there is a lack of small child friendly activities when it's very windy or poor weather. The outhouses were not on par with usual provincial park outhouses. Not very clean and lots of broken door locks. Also the goose poop and swimmers itch weren't great."

"Great camping, beautiful nature, peaceful. Great place to “disconnect” from the hustle and bustle. I recommend Reesor lake. Gorgeous. Check for fire bans though so you don’t end up in a pickle."
