We are arriving next Wednesday for our vacation! 2 nights in St John’s then 2 nights in Twillingate and 2 nights in Elliston then back home to Oklahoma! Will we see whales and icebergs? Places to eat? Quilt shops? Recommendations for expeditions welcome!
Make sure you go the lighthouse in Bonavista too (near Elliston). When in Elliston head down to where the puffins are. There’s a path to them.

"Small centre but packed with history. The artwork was exquisite, and the history was incredible to learn about, although sad. The Sealer’s Memorial was also amazing to see. The staff were very friendly and so happy to welcome me in as well."

"Didn't know what to expect, but turned out to be a moving highlight of our trip. The gentleman who greeted us and gave us info on the facility was an extremely knowledgeable, friendly local man who made the experience 100x better. Please see this centre before heading to the monument a few minutes walk away. The insight gained here will make the monument that much more meaningful."

"We stopped by on a whim as we were driving past and are glad that we did. This museum documents the sealing industry, from its history to the specific people who were a part of it. Many people in this area used to work as sealers and it was interesting to learn about the culture and business behind sealing. My favourite part is learning about the various thrilling (and oftentimes devastating) stories of sealers."
