"Fort Erie, a serene escape when everywhere else is packed and crowded.
Take a walk along the waterfront boardwalk, read a book while listening to the sounds of the water, or take a nap on the grass. Grab a bit from the waterfront restaurants: Italian - Vaticano or Chinese - Happy Jack.

"The park land was donated by Alonzo C. Mather, the architect of the adjacent Peace Bridge and he also contributed heavily to the arch construction. It is a tribute to the peace and friendship between Canada and the United States, and as a grand gateway to Canada. The park also includes a cenotaph dedicated to veterans from Fort Erie who died in World War I, World War II and the Korean War, sits to the east of the arch, facing the Niagara River."
