"The Huron Historic Gaol is a fascinating place to visit and really gives you a glimpse into the area’s past. The building itself is well-preserved, and walking through the cells and halls feels like stepping back in time. What I especially appreciated were the listening tools provided throughout the site—they share the history in a clear and engaging way, making the experience even more immersive. A must-see if you’re visiting Goderich and interested in local history."

"Informative tour, they give you handheld devices where you punch in the number of the exhibit and you put it up to your ear so only you can hear, it's not loud enough to disturb other people's experience.
Some architectural details are very beautiful, especially in the center with the spiral staircase, the upper floor where the courtroom was and the Jail Masters house. Interesting design for the cells, a drab view for the incarcerated, but there were windows to let in some natural light.
Outside in the courtyards they have a garden which is now used for growing food for the local community soup kitchens. If you're into history, this is a worthwhile stop."
