Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the stunning panoramic views and the vibrant fall colors at Dundas Peak, calling it a must-visit for nature lovers and photographers. The hike is considered rewarding, though some find the admission fee high and note the lack of amenities like picnic areas. Concerns have been raised about safety near the gorge edges for young children.

"Dundas Peak is about a 40-minute walk from the parking area. The view from the top is absolutely stunning; you can see the city on one side, the valley on another, and since it’s at a corner, you get three different views. A train passes through the valley every few minutes, which makes it even more scenic.

Parking is very limited, and you must have a reservation. Without one, security won’t let you in, and you can’t park along the road and walk up because they’ll stop you. However, after 5 PM, it seems there’s no one checking, so some people park nearby and walk up, though I’m not sure if that’s officially allowed.

The hike is a bit long, but the view from the peak is totally worth it."

Mohamed Thaufeeq

"The natur is undeniably beautiful — the views are lovely, especially in the fall. However, the $32 fee for two people and a car on a weekday feels quite high, and it’s not really clear where that money goes.

I visited on October 28, which might’ve been a little late for peak fall colors — when I came here around mid-October seven years ago, the trees were bursting with color much more vividly.

I did notice there are a lot more fences now, which is great for safety, but people still find ways to get close to the cliff anyway.

The only real downside was the washroom situation — they were quite dirty, and there definitely aren’t enough portable toilets for how many visitors come through.

Overall, it’s a beautiful spot to visit once in a while, but the price and lack of maintenance make it feel a bit disappointing compared to how it used to be."

Marharyta Mavrina

"Gorgeous bit of escarpment to visit and hike around for a while. The waterfalls are very pretty in all seasons, but you can escape the crowds by visiting in colder months. Just be mindful that in winter the trails are unmaintained, hard packed snow/ice and can be very slippery, especially anywhere there are stairs or steeper elevation jumps."
