What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Windy Ridge Conservation Area for its beautiful scenery, accessible trails, and peaceful atmosphere. It's a great spot for a short hike with rewarding views, especially during spring and fall. Some note the need for navigation aids and bug spray, and a few mention dog waste issues.
"Beautiful spot. Not too challenging or long to hike. Keep an eye on your GPS map if you get easily turned around, there are a few offshoots from the main path. It was very buggy when we visited so glad we brought mosquito net hats and covered up. Lots of beautiful flowers in the meadow, butterflies, songbirds, frogs croaking in the pond too. A number of full sun areas so hats and sunblock! A couple of steeper areas so maybe not good after a heavy rain. Parking was easy, only $4 with an app we had to download."

"I finally decided to check this trail out with my dogs, so glad I did!! It’s a nice short loop, we did it twice. The first few hundred meters are uphill, and pretty early on in the hike you’ll reach a stunning lookout point, have a seat at the picnic table and take it in. The way down is just as beautiful, then at the bottom you’ll walk along the lake and then along a field. The whole walk is wonderful!! Most of the trail on the upper parts is single track, then the lower parts are double track."

"Varying terrain and tree cover, good facilities, great view. Parking app was easy to use and price was $4. Onsite map a little hard to see and my downloaded map didn't seem easy to relate to the site. We found the lookout after going the long way (past the restrooms). If you're facing the picnic pavilion, walk through it and follow the trail on the east side."
