What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors often praise the Royal Military College's beautiful campus and historic architecture, with the disc golf course being a unique recreational draw. However, some reviews highlight issues with visitor access restrictions and significant problems with the finance department's handling of refunds, leading to frustration.
"Visited the Royal Military College campus while on a weekend trip to Kingston. Found out they have a 14 hole disc golf course. Went to front gate to ask for info and the guard working was friendly and said that me and my son could go play the course but couldn't bring my car through the gate, which was fine. If your playing disc golf, you must be use to walking by now."

"Awful service. School overcharged me close to $1300, then has spent more than 3 months trying to refund it, making ridiculous demands despite obvious proof it occurred. In the end, I gave up and filed a separate credit card complaint.
Extremely unprofessional for an institution to have such a poorly managed finance department.
Update: After 8 months I finally got my money back from them thanks to a credit card complaint + proof. No apologies, and constant negligence and denial from the staff involved. Again, shame on RMC and the relevant finance department here, who contravened the financial administration manual in their handling of the case."

"Tourists are not allowed to enter the Military Academy. The location is very good and the scenery is beautiful. Students often come out for training."

RMC's historic campus is a significant part of its identity, featuring impressive architecture that reflects its long-standing tradition. The college has played a crucial role in shaping generations of military leaders and continues to be a cornerstone of Canada's defense education.
Beyond its military mandate, RMC also fosters a strong sense of community and academic pursuit. Officer cadets engage in a demanding curriculum that balances academic rigor with physical fitness and leadership development, preparing them for diverse roles within the Canadian Armed Forces and beyond.
Navigating Visitor Access and Campus Experience

For those interested in experiencing the college at its most vibrant, attending reunion weekends is recommended. These events often feature public-facing activities like obstacle courses, offering a unique glimpse into cadet life and traditions.
The Competitive Admissions Process

This holistic approach ensures that successful candidates are prepared for the demanding academic and military training at RMC.
For detailed information on application requirements, deadlines, and the selection criteria, it is best to consult the official Royal Military College of Canada admissions website. Early research and preparation are key for anyone considering this path.
