Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Ken Seiling Waterloo Region Museum for its well-maintained exhibits on local history and the charming Doon Heritage Village. It's considered a great place for families and offers good value, especially with student discounts. However, disappointment arises when the heritage village is closed for seasonal maintenance, as many visitors look forward to that immersive experience.

"Is a great place for kids to have birthday parties, tours and learn about Waterloo history. It’s important for us to have heritage of the region celebrated and this place does it very well in a beautifully designed building and exterior Martin house and town centre. Lots to do and see. Won’t be disappointed."

BARRY KAINTH (Galaxy Gate)

"Fun visit with friends last week on a PD day. It was sad to see very few people here. Inside is a very beautiful exhibit of local Waterloo region history and artifacts. VERY disappointed, though, that the pioneer village has been closed for so long. You are able to walk around and see the outside of the buildings, but that's about it. These days, this generation needs to know how people lived back then, before technology. We need immersive history lessons and displays. I hope the village opens again soon."

"Well maintained museum of Waterloo Region history. It was very quiet on Civic Day Monday. Great place to visit no matter how long you lived in the region. Unfortunately the doon village ground is closed for the summer."
