Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the stunning scenery and the informative nature of the Lake Minnewanka cruise. The knowledgeable guides and unique historical insights, including the submerged village, are frequently highlighted as major draws. While some find it a bit pricey, most agree it's a worthwhile experience for its breathtaking views and engaging commentary.
"Went on the premium cruise and it’s worth every cent. The tour guide, Captain Christy and boat pilot Captain Jon (in their boats the two alternate as tour guide and pilot) were excellent. Christy made the tour so interesting with excellent commentary and answers to questions. She shows passion for her job and is a natural. The pine tea was quite interesting too. The scenery is so good, it’s difficult to do any justice with words or even pictures. I strongly recommend Premium cruise which is 30 mins longer than the classic and goes till the end of the lake."

"The Lake Minnewanka Cruise is a must-do experience in Banff if you want to take in the area’s beauty from the water. The lake itself is stunning—deep turquoise with mountain peaks rising dramatically all around. Being out on the boat gives you a perspective you just can’t get from the shore.
The guides make the trip even better. They share fascinating stories about the history, wildlife, and even the old village that was submerged when the dam was built. It feels like part sightseeing, part history lesson, and part relaxing boat ride.
The cruise is smooth and family-friendly, and it doesn’t take up your whole day, so it’s easy to fit into your Banff itinerary. If you can, try to go on a clear day—the colors of the water and mountains are incredible.
Overall, it’s a beautiful and informative experience that adds a different dimension to exploring the Rockies."
