Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Bois de l'Équerre as a charming, accessible nature retreat within Laval, perfect for easy walks, birdwatching, and dog outings. While some trails can be muddy, the well-maintained paths and natural beauty offer a refreshing escape for families and individuals alike.

"Charming pocket of natural forest with some patches of nature reclaiming agricultural fields. Some well kept trails that are wheelchair accessible and some more narrow primitive sections. Several areas are swampy or muddy for most of the summer. Mosquitoes are often overbearing. Winter trails are great."

Guy Desharnais

"An absolutely charming place to go for a walk and forget you're in laval. Take the woodpecker trail its about 5 km and won't take you that long to go the entire length. Tons of woodpeckers in the morning and at sunset. A bunch of other species of birds too. In winter, its a great place for if you have snow shoes. Stunning in autumn when the leaves are falling."

Patrick Chalifour

"A nature retreat in the city that costs you nothing more than your time. Ample parking and a mix of short trails you can tie together make this an easy place to bring the whole family to. They even have a flat wheelchair accessible trail that does a nice loop so there is an option for everyone. Along the trails are little urban legends to keep the kids entertained. This place offers lovely scenery that varies according to the season. You don't come here expecting to be challenged, you come here to unwind and refresh in nature for a bit. And for that it gets five stars."
