Most quiet Markham Library?
I’m looking for the best and most quiet Markham library that I can go study for a couple of hours. I went a few weeks ago to the Aaniin library and it was too loud, lots of kids crying and screaming. Any suggestions?

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Aaniin Community Centre and Library offers a range of functional spaces and a well-maintained environment, particularly noted on its second-floor study areas. However, visitors have raised concerns about noise levels, especially during children's programming, and inconsistent cleanliness. Staff interactions have also received mixed feedback, with some patrons experiencing unhelpfulness while others found supervisors to be professional.
"Here used to be very quiet at the study room area, very nice environment for studying. Unfortunately, it’s not peaceful anymore. Hard to be concentrate on studying. And the cleaning issues would be another concern. Hopefully the study room can be used for “studying “ again, not party room."

"One of the worst library experiences I’ve ever had.
The staff here are incredibly unhelpful and often rude. If you ask for assistance, expect to be met with indifference or attitude. It’s clear that customer service is not a priority at this location.
The cleanliness is appalling. There is never any soap in the bathrooms, and they are visibly dirty every time I visit. Floors are rarely—if ever—mopped or swept, and the entire facility feels neglected. It’s honestly unsanitary. I hope if any manager or person in charge is reading this, they take action—or better yet, make a surprise visit during library hours and check the bathrooms themselves. They are not only never washed properly, but there seems to be no service or maintenance done at all during the day.
To make things worse, despite being a library meant for studying and quiet reading, the noise level is out of control. Children constantly run around and make noise right in front of the staff, who say nothing unless you specifically ask them to intervene. That’s just unacceptable. Why should patrons have to police the library because the staff refuse to?
There also seems to be no hygienic oversight whatsoever. On multiple occasions, the furniture has been visibly soiled or extremely dirty, with no signs of regular cleaning or maintenance. It feels more like a hangout spot than a place for focused learning.
It’s become a place where unhoused individuals camp out on the chairs and sofas for long hours, and the library has no visible security or oversight. Is this being encouraged? It’s unfair to paying taxpayers and regular library users who are looking for a safe, clean, and quiet space to study.
This library needs a serious overhaul in terms of hygiene, noise control, staff training, and security. Until then, I can’t recommend it to anyone."

"Really nice space, with lots of different activities and functional areas. Both inside and outside are very well maintained and provide lots of opportunities for gatherings and fun. Also there's a lot of features to look at, like sculptures and focal points which are also conducive to sitting and talking or different activities.
Update May 2023: ventured up to the second floor of the library and it actually has a lot of different kinds of seating and study space. Very nice."
