It was my third time at Ofuro Spa and definitely my last. The first 2 experiences weren't that good already but this time it was straight out bad. We went on a Sunday at 10.30am after a night of snow. ... and here's what happened....

When we arrived, the night before was a snowstorm, the street up to the spa was not cleared whatsoever so we had to push the gas hard to make it through the pile of snow and after made it to the parking lot with some luck.

The snow wasn't cleared to/from the ladies changing house. While you go in there in boots, you go down those staris in your slippers.. ankle deep in snow. It's not only freaking cold (-2 that day) but also dangerous cause very slippery

When we arrived at the water, there was a plastic bottle and a plastic cup floating in the water. We took it out of the water and put it to the side.
The bubbles in the water are very rough and extremely loud, not really a very relaxing experience.
After we were in the water for 30min - My friend wanted to go the steam room and I wanted to read my book in the little house with the fire place or outside at the fire. NO AND NO AND NO
4. The way to the little house was not cleared and I couldn't make it there (snow around 30cm high)
5. The fire place was not lit up and the snow around and on the chairs was not cleared
6. The steam room was broken
At that point we decided to leave and asked the money back and at that point a girl came to put a sign that the steam room is broken.
I confronted her and that we have a very unpleasant experience. She said that there is just 1 guy working to take care of the whole thing and he didn't have the time yet.
Also, they had 60 people the night before and nobody complained (remember - all I mention has happened the night before - garbage in the water - snow not cleared etc.).
He mustn't have seen the garbage in the water as he is busy trying to shovel it all.
me - so nobody cleaned any of the premises since those 60 people left?
... no answer.
Also - it was just those 2 things in the water (excuse me?) and the 3 water places work. ...
As if to say - we should be happy that at least something is working here...
She was very friendly but other than that she couldn't really do or say anything other than to tell the manager - which is normal for a random employee.
Generally it seems nobody but the front desk is working there. The last 2 times they kept saying that there's new management and it's improving so much.
I can just say - it's completely worked down and needs A LOT of renovation. It all seems very outdated and feels like they are running out of money.
Also - the bistro was closed but says on the website it's open. They have some plastic wrapped stuff in the fridge.
There is a reason why there's never a lot of people and other spas in the area (strom/ameri/scandinavia) are always packed. I really tried to give it a chance as the location is amazing and has so much potential but I absolutely don't recommend.
We asked for a full refund - there was no conversation at the front desk. The woman was friendly enough and just gave us the paper to file a complaint and a refund and said bye. Nothing else.
Go to another spa in the area and have a REAL relaxing experience. I just hope we really get refunded ($196 for 2)
