Popular park, sites can be hard to get. Reddit

Off-grid, lakeside, and 100% dog-approved. Tucked just north of Campbell River, Morton Lake Provincial Park gave us everything we love in a backcountry escape โ€” quiet mornings, glassy water, forested campsites, and trails that had Finnโ€™s tail wagging nonstop. Loaded up the 4Runner with our go-to gear and made this our basecamp for the weekend. The best part? Morton Lake is also the starting poin...

Reviews Summary

Morton Lake Provincial Park is lauded for its peaceful, natural setting and beautiful lakeside campsites, offering a true escape. However, the challenging road conditions and rustic amenities are significant drawbacks for some visitors. Reddit+1

"If you want to relax in peacefull nature, pure nature, stay here for at least two nights. Private beach to the lake from most of campsites makee it more exciting.
I stayed three nights, Muhan lake next yo this is also good option for boaters, specially Muhan Island inside lake, perfect."

Javad Noruzi

"This was a great spot to camp, aside from the road in. By the time I got to the campsite, my 2 door Honda Civic and some clanging going on underneath, but if you have an SUV or a truck, you will have no problem getting there. The campsite itself was quite great with a few spots right on the water. I had no idea where to pay, and there was no park operator when I was there, so I didnโ€™t end up paying. The beach area was quite nice too.

Lost the one star due to the car damage, but other than that, GO!"

Trevor Richardson

"Lost a star due to roads. As of Jun 2021 the road was full of shot rocks and deep ruts and potholes full of shot rock make sure you have a spare or 2. Rustic as there is no power or running water. No cell signal. Just nature. Fishing can be good depending on time of year and weather. Getting a site here is very difficult due to its popularity and driving out for a non reservable site is not really worth it incase there is nothing available."
