"The view from the top is an amazing 360 panorama of the entire area, and there are several other great viewpoints along the road up. It's a rough road, but it's worth the drive. When I went up in May 2025 conditions were good enough that even a sedan would be able to make it up: there were no deep trenches or potholes. However, the surface is very rough, with jagged rocks throughout, so I'd suggest going slow to avoid popping a tire. I rarely went above 20 km/h, so it took about an hour to get up. At the top, you get a bit of a view directly from the parking lot, but the real viewpoints are a short hike away. The eastern viewpoint is a 1.3 km return trip on an easy trail and gives an amazing view of the south and east. In May 2025 there was still up to a foot of snow on many parts of the trail, so I'd suggest wearing tall boots. Snowshoes would not be great because some parts of the trail have melted all the way down to dirt. I was not able to go to the western viewpoint because there was even more snow on it. That trail would require snowshoes at this time."
