Mt. Prevost! Highest mountain in the Cowichan Valley. Bit of an ass kicker with the elevation but mostly forested, and quite cool under the canopy, considering the outside temperature.

Greatest views in the area that can be accessed by logging road?
Mt Prevost, just north of Duncan, has a pretty decent view without being too treacherous. The logging road to the top is accurately mapped on Google maps as well. Just don't go during weekdays, it's pretty dangerous to come up head-on with a logging truck.
Where's your favourite viewpoint in Central Van Isle?
I've always liked looking out at the water from the cliffs at Pipers Lagoon, but recently I just discovered the point at Moorecroft Park in Nanoose Bay (Vesper Point?) Amazing view. How about you?
📸 Camera Ready
The 180°+ views are stunning. You'll want to capture every angle of the Cowichan Valley.
👟 Trail Ready
Wear appropriate footwear for hiking, especially if the terrain is slushy or snowy.
Looking for a spot with high elevation
Hello everyone! I'm hoping someone can recommend and easily accessible lookout spot. I'm hoping to find something above the clouds where I can look north. Thank you so much!

"What a beautiful hiking spot with some incredible views. Perfect for longer and shorter hikes since you can drive quite far up. You don’t even need a 4x4. Can’t wait to go back on my next trip to Canada."

"Rainy day today, but still a wonderful place to visit. A must see with awesome views! Parking very limited at top if a lot of people go, especially in summer months. Lots of Parking at lower level with the main entrance sign, but a few km's walking up the logging road if you do. Need lots of time for walking if you do."
