Van Island diary #5 - We explored beaches and hikes near Juan de fuca campgrounds including Muir Creek beach, China beach and Sandcut beach. The misty, hazy sunlight in the open wide expansive beaches was an amazing sight. 🌊🐚 #chinabeach #travel #vancouverisland #juandefuca #camping #beaches #sandcutbeaxh #explorevancouverisland #muircreekbeach

Reviews Summary

Muir Creek Beach is a charming, locally-known spot praised for its natural beauty, abundant wildlife, and fossil-rich shores. While parking is limited and the beach is rocky and can be windy, visitors appreciate its less crowded atmosphere and the unique experience of exploring tide pools and spotting seals and eagles. InstagramReddit

"Very cute beach with a lot of dog walkers (the dogs are very sophisticated - they give you a short smell and go on). The beach itself isn't very crowded, has a great view and cute rocks. Also, the path to the beach is surrounded by blackberry bushes, so it was also a nice snack surprise (at least at the end of august it was this way)
Cute locally-known beach!"

Stacy Fedorovskaia

"Not a ton of parking and do NOT leave valuables in car but a great beach. Fossil hunters take not this beach has them in abundance. Lots of otters, seals, eagles and often whales. The high amount of sea weed and kelp drying in heat of summer can give a real beachy smell if you know what I mean. Worth a visit if you like coastal nature or are a geology fan."

Brad Booth

"Such a cute little private beach, while rocky and windy it’s a nice place to run away from the crowds."
