Is Oshawa Museum worth visiting?
Hey all. My parents are visiting for a few weeks and tend to get pretty bored with my wife and I at work all day. I've been looking for things they could do or see (We're in Whitby) and noticed the Oshawa Museum. I'm a bit embarrassed I didn't know it existed despite living…

Things to do in Oshawa?
Hi, guys. Sorry if this a repeated question but I’m a student here (F22) and I wanna know what are some of the places I can visit in Oshawa to spend some time. I’m looking for places that are not too expensive but I’m open to restaurants / places where I can meet people. I’ve…

My husband and I are going to be staying in Oshawa for a week in April (and a week in Niagara Falls after). We're from the UK and it wasn't really a delicately planned trip because we've never been to Canada and we stumbled on a decent deal. Its going to be our 5th wedding…

Admiring Oshawa's Architecture
I'm from the GTA and just began attending school in Oshawa in September. Prior to then I'd never been and I must say, in spite of the pervasive negativity about it, I actually love it here. Just thought I'd share some positivity and a photo of my favorite building (a modernist…

What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the Oshawa Museum for its well-kept historic homes and beautiful lakeside setting in Lakeview Park, complete with a boardwalk and pier. The inclusive approach to history and efforts for accessibility are also highlighted. Some visitors noted that access to all homes requires a guided tour, which might be a point of consideration.
"Very beautiful & well kept historical homes. Lovely grounds near the lake Ontario. Great for tours, viewing & park land to explore. There is a boardwalk, benches for people watching & a pier to walk out into the lake. Kids park & a snack shake for convenience, parking on site as well (small lot) & several historic homes to view.
The lake looks beautiful at this location, the beach is small as the surrounding area has private homes with cliffs."

"This museum is located directly by the beach. There are 4 houses that I saw. We went to the first house and it’s the main house. The lady at the souvenir stand told us there is a tour and if we liked we could do the tour. We were there 11:30 and the next tour was 12:00. It’s free but donations excepted. We decided to walk around. We went to the next house and it was locked. So apparently you have to do the tour or you won’t be able to see the other houses. That’s why I gave it 3 stars because that other house was locked and it looks like a small museum."

"I appreciated the inclusion and that they didn't hide any of the history. It was very refreshing and they did a great job to include diversity in their storytelling.
They also do a fantastic job of creating substitute of bringing the information to visitors who aren't able to use stairs. Well done!!"
