Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Trent University Nature Areas for their beautiful, well-groomed trails offering diverse walking options. The opportunity to see local wildlife, including garter snakes, is a significant draw. However, some note issues with mud in spring and occasional litter, and advise caution regarding unleashed dogs.

"Beautiful trails! And the different length options are great! Mixing and matching them makes for a fun walk.
A note for any Trent students who want to walk to the trail - do not follow the directions on Google maps, it is mostly on the shoulder of busy roads and takes longer. Just go around the back of Gzowski, along East Bank Dr., cross Pioneer Rd. and you can access the trails through the back of the Environmental Centre."

Arya Riley

"Great parking. Many well groomed and easy walking trails. Map boards with coloured trail markers. Saw some local wildlife."

Tim Ward

"A lovely area to walk through with various trails that loop, about 2-3 kms each. Be prepared for it to be extraordinarily muddy in the spring (one of my boots almost got sucked off my foot!). Dog friendly but expect that some less responsible owners let their dogs run loose, which means you may have dogs running up to you/your dog and may have to avoid some poop.

Lots of spots to stop and sit down for a bit and enjoy the view. There is a lot of garbage right beside the trail in some spots (like on the upland portion of the Morton Trail) as well as some invasive species I hope the trail stewardship group will be able to address soon.

Parking lot is mid-sized; usually no issue finding parking, unless it's a particularly nice day and everybody else has the same walking inclination as you do."
