Reviews Summary
Visitors find Lock 8 Gateway Park to be a quiet and interesting place, especially when a ship is passing through the lock. The park is praised for its clean grounds, ample free parking, and beautiful flower gardens during the summer. While some visitors note it can be very quiet during off-peak times, the unique engineering of the canal lock system is consistently highlighted as a major draw.
"The Gateway Park at Lock 8 was very quiet on Sunday, October 27, 2024. We had the entire park to ourselves that day! Wish that we had been there during the summer though, when all the flowers were in bloom, but it was still a great site to visit! A wonderful place of interest. There was ample free parking and it was a nice clean area to walk around in. We didn't see any large boats in the canal in the short time that we were there, but we saw some humongous ships at Port Promenade which I will be reviewing separately. I recommend that you include this park as one of your stops if you are planning to visit Port Colborne. 😊👍💜"
