Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the Lighthouse Country Regional Trail, particularly its excellent accessibility and beautiful, mature forest setting. Many appreciate the thoughtful upgrades that make it suitable for wheelchairs and strollers, as well as the charming wooden carvings. Some note that venturing off the main path can lead to more challenging terrain.

"This was a very fun trail! I loved the added touches like the wooden carvings. It’s great to see parks get this creative. We also saw lots of skunk cabbage and various mushrooms.

We followed the AllTrails loop, which took us about 1 hour and 30 minutes. The first half of the trail is very stroller-friendly. The return route via Nile Creek Service Road was okay, but keep in mind that you’re really out in the wilderness. The connector trail back to the main path is not accessible—thankfully we had an all-terrain stroller, but it was a bit of a struggle. I’d recommend sticking to the main trail for the return, as the service road isn’t particularly scenic anyway.

There’s plenty of parking at the trailhead, and it’s easy to find. A public washroom is also available at the lot."

Jen S

"One of my favourite easy hikes in Oceanside. Very accessible for visually impaired and mobility aid users. The groomed trail is lovely, and if you turn off onto the service road there is a cool but inexcessable trail that leads back to the parking lot."

Emma Silver

"A beautifully maintained trail in a mature rainforest setting. Well worth the visit."
