Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Juniper-Sinclair Canyon Trail for its stunning waterfall and river at the bottom, offering a refreshing dip. The initial ascent provides rewarding panoramic views, and the gorge is a unique geological feature. However, the strenuous and less scenic climb back up is a common point of caution, along with the abundance of mosquitoes by the water.

"The best way to tackle this trail is from the parking lot across from Radium Hot Springs. It starts off at quite a steep ascent and with a fairly well-marked, narrow pathway. It is better to get the hard part out of the way first.

There are some nice vista views once you get the peak of the trail.

Once you descend into the forest where the river and eventually the Falls are, it is quite cool comparatively. BRING YOUR HIG SPRAY! THERE ARE MANY MOSQUITOES 🦟 BY THE RIVER.

I would recommend that no child under 10 take on this hike. There are some tricky parts to it.

The last portion of the hike is a little disappointing but fairly relaxing. After seeing the gorgeous Falls, you hike up the switchback trails for about 450m to a different small parking lot. You turn left and walk along the highway where the incredible gorge is in the rock that the highway goes through to enter the last descent to the Town. After that, though, you walk along the highway for about 850m to get back to the original parking lot, which is easy, but doesn't match the splendor of the other 90% of the hike.

A decent 2 hour hike."

"Easy, safe, short and an amazing trail with great canyon views. There is a pump track at the bottom. You can access this via 2 parking lots and it's connected to both one near the roundabout. There is one is the radium parking lot. Kids will have a lot of fun. There are steeper bouts, but they are safe enough for even kids. There are rest benches and enough garbage and recycle bins. The view from the top or the start of the trail is exceptional with panaromic mountains and city view. Check out videos and images and follow me for more detailed reviews."

"The Sinclair Creek Trail in Radium Hot Springs offers a unique and engaging experience, particularly for those seeking a refreshing dip in a natural setting. The initial descent is a moderate, zigzagging walk, manageable for most hikers and building anticipation for what lies below.

Upon reaching the bottom, hikers are greeted by a truly beautiful scene: a captivating waterfall and a pristine river. This spot is a highlight, offering the inviting opportunity to jump in and cool off, a popular activity observed among both human and canine visitors. It's a fantastic place to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. While there's another section of the trail to explore, the main draw is undoubtedly the riverside area.

However, it's important to be prepared for the return journey. The ascent back up is considerably less scenic and can be quite strenuous. It's crucial to bring ample water, as the climb is demanding and can lead to dehydration; I personally experienced significant exertion and felt quite unwell on the way up. Additionally, hikers should remain aware of their surroundings. During my ascent, I heard a distinct hiss, which I believe may have come from a rubber boa snake, prompting a swift departure.

Overall, the Sinclair Creek Trail is highly recommended for the beautiful reward at the bottom, but hikers should be well-prepared for a challenging and less inspiring climb back to the top, and always be mindful of local wildlife."
