Off-Season Considerations

If visiting outside peak winter, note that the on-site restaurant may be closed, requiring a 12-minute drive to Revelstoke for dining. Some amenities like the pool and hot tub also have earlier closing times. Be prepared for potentially cooler room temperatures as heating may be limited.

Accessibility & Mobility

The resort has outside stairs to rooms, and the lobby closes early. This could pose challenges for guests with mobility issues or those carrying a lot of luggage. Consider requesting ground-floor accommodations if available.

Guests often praise Glacier House Ruins for its peaceful, cozy atmosphere and beautiful natural surroundings, with cabins being a particular highlight for their privacy and amenities like hot tubs. However, some visitors note that during the off-season, the on-site restaurant is closed, requiring a drive to Revelstoke, and noise between rooms can be an issue.

"A Hidden Gem in Revelstoke – Peaceful, Cozy, and Perfect for All!

We had an amazing stay at Glacier House Resort and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in nature. The cabin was absolutely worth it – cozy, peaceful, and surrounded by the stunning beauty of Revelstoke. It’s the perfect spot to relax and chill, whether you’re sipping your morning coffee on the porch or winding down in the evening under the stars.

The nature vibes here are unbeatable – quiet, serene, and truly refreshing. The amenities were excellent, from the comfortable beds to the clean and well-equipped facilities. The free breakfast was a lovely bonus with a great menu that offered something for everyone.

Whether you’re traveling as a couple, with kids, as a family, or in a group, this resort has something for everyone. It’s spacious yet cozy, peaceful yet fun. The price is reasonable for the experience you get – comfort, cleanliness, and natural beauty all in one.

We’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend Glacier House Resort for your next stay in Revelstoke!"

"I stayed here for one night with my dog after the highway was closed overnight at Rogers Pass on sept. 29th. Last minute booking and arrived after 8pm. Staff was super friendly!
Room was clean, spacious, linens and towels were were clean and the bed was comfortable. Hot breakfast was good, loved the waffles. Resort grounds are beautiful. Pet friendly too.

Cons:
It is a winter resort so if you're here in the off season, there is no restaurant and you need to drive the 12 minutes into Revelstoke to get food.
Lobby closes early so no elevator up to the rooms and you need to use outside stairs which could be an issue for those with mobility issues or with a lot of stuff.
Hot breakfast in the off season doesn't include eggs or meat (cold hard boiled eggs and cold ham slices/cheese are provided)
Had an issue with some kind of tiny fly in the bathroom. Not just a few but dozens; seem to increase with shower use. I was refunded my pet deposit ($30) for this inconvenience but would've liked to see a bit more refunded given the room was $265 per night in the off season.
Room was a bit chilly and no ability to turn up heat or use the fireplace.
Freezer wasn't working great and the more frozen food that I had, defrosted quite a bit.
Extremely loud between rooms. I could hear the tv and conversations clear as day from the room nextdoor.

I didn't use the pool or hot tub as both closed at 9pm so I can't comment on that.

Overall it was a decent stay but I wouldn't recommend staying here in the off season due to the price. It is not worth almost $300 a night in the off season. It is very clearly catered for winter use."

"We visited in September and stayed in a cabin, the cabin was very private with a BBQ and a hot tub. The air conditioning did not work well. The breakfast was very basic, no hot food. Restaurant was closed. You will want to have a car to get into town as it is 10 minutes away and not easily walkable. We used Johnnie's taxi which costs 30 dollars to get into town. The staff were very helpful and prompt with additional requests or assistance."
