What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about St. Marys Quarry for its fun Super Splash park and refreshing swimming experience, calling it a great workout and a blast for all ages. While the limited parking and occasional need for heightened lifeguard attention are noted, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many eager to return.
"Amazing experience however the safety guards didn’t notice that my 9 year old got stuck under the floater and he almost drowned !! Just a bit more attention is required otherwise the place is amazing and kids had a blast !"
Rana AL-Farraji
"Such a fun place! Great for the kids, it's simple they will love it. Only thing it's a workout hehe so not saying you need to be in excellent shape, but definitely some kind of shape or you can take it super easy & not go too wild running & jumping off of everything like we were.
If you just want to stay put & watch your kids go in, you don't have to pay the full price. It's only $7 for just entering & staying on the grass.
But if you are doing the full splash park it's $27 with tax. You'll get a wristband to identify that too.
Good price for whatever time slot you go.
We went from 3-5. Perfect time. The later slot had less people. So that's up to you.
Staff is chill & informative!"

"Myself and my two kids had a great time at Super Splash this past weekend.
The teen staff were helpful and polite, (I didn’t notice any staff over the age of 20). Wristband, life jacket, checking in were all great. There’s a selection of snacks available, but we brought in our own food.
Inflatables were a lot of fun, you definitely get a fun workout on them! They’re also in top condition, but that’s to be expected as they opened earlier this summer. There’s also plenty of life guards. One note; you do have to swim out to the inflatables which takes a few minutes.
Parking is quite limited as they don’t have their own lot. One was full when we got there, the other just one available spot.
I booked on the website the day before to get our 2 hour slot, which is what they advise so you don’t miss out if you pay at the door. One thing to note is that you do have to pay an additional cost to get into the quarry itself, which was an extra $16.75 for the three of us. The Super Splash website did not mention this (at least I didn’t see it mentioned anywhere during the booking process), and I was surprised when I was told this when we went in. They should add it to the website.
Having learned about the extra entrance cost we would still visit again as we all had a great time!"

The Super Splash Experience
Safety is a key consideration, with lifeguards present. However, some reviews suggest that constant vigilance from all lifeguards is crucial, particularly around the busy inflatables, to prevent accidents. Despite the physical demands, the Super Splash park is widely praised for providing immense fun for all ages, with laughter and enjoyment being common themes among visitors.
Booking your 2-hour time slot online in advance is highly recommended, as the park has limited capacity and parking is also restricted. This ensures you don't miss out on the fun, especially during peak times.
History and Transformation of St. Marys Quarry
The quarry's deep, cool waters and surrounding limestone cliffs provide a dramatic and picturesque setting. This natural beauty, combined with modern attractions like the Super Splash park, has made it a sought-after summer destination. The transformation highlights a successful effort to repurpose industrial sites into engaging public spaces, preserving a piece of local history while creating new memories.
Visitors can still feel the echoes of its past while enjoying the present. The quarry's history adds a layer of depth to the experience, making it more than just a place to swim or play; it's a testament to community revitalization and the enduring appeal of natural landscapes.
Safety and Preparedness at the Quarry
Lifeguards are stationed throughout the quarry to monitor activities. However, some visitor feedback suggests that an even higher level of attentiveness from all lifeguards is beneficial, particularly in busy areas like the inflatables, to prevent potential accidents. Parents are encouraged to closely supervise their children, especially younger ones, to ensure their safety.
Beyond the water park, cliff jumping presents its own set of risks. Visitors considering this activity should assess their own abilities and the conditions carefully. The quarry's deep water is generally safe for jumping, but awareness of surroundings and personal limits is crucial.
