What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
La Pêche Lake is cherished for its beautiful beach, serene lake, and opportunities for canoe camping and enjoying nature, especially during the fall. However, visitors note increasing crowds and litter, along with challenging road conditions to access the site.
"The lake itself is very special, if you know things.
There's even free camping, again, if you know things.
But, the human impact is growing drastically here.
Too many of those "nature lovers" nowadays, who do not have a clue about what protected environment means.
Lots of garbage left, even on the remote islands. I have to clean up, every time.
Proposals: Shut down the main beach, only allowing paddle folks to come. Gas powered motor boats (for official use) should be banned; lake is not that big, electric motors are enough.
P.S. Parking used to be free before 2008, no gates, but really, now it's too many people. P.P.S. Lots of black bears here, they love ignorant tourists for breakfast, lunch and dinner."
