Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Sproat Lake Provincial Park's stunningly clear, sandy waters, making it a top choice for swimming and paddling on Vancouver Island. The upper campground's private, treed sites are a highlight, though some note the pit toilets. The accessible petroglyphs add a unique historical dimension, and many find it a great value compared to other island destinations.

"A great place to spend time on the water. The designated swimming area is clearly marked and safely separated from boats and jet skis. Facilities include washrooms by the parking lot, picnic tables, and access to clean drinking water."

Yulia Herasimovich

"Nice campsites in the upper campground, some with more trees than others. We were rent camping on a very rainy night so drove through the campground to find a site that would suit our needs. Very quiet campground with a welcoming ranger patrolling in their truck. The petroglyphs (~5-10min walk from the parking lot) and lake areas are beautiful and impressive. The beach and picnic areas looked really nice although we didn't use them. Worth a stay - especially with the higher cost of campgrounds and hotels further west toward Ukee and Tofino."

Julia Renaud

"Just spent four days camping here in our 17ft travel trailer. Our site was at the upper campground so it was about a 1/2 a km hike to the lake and the showers. We enjoyed kayaking on the lake, but it would be great place if you had a boat. The upper campground campsites are larger and more private which we enjoyed. Only pit toilets at the upper campground. Overall a nice clean campground and beautiful lake with spectacular views."
