Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the stunning natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere of the Skwelwil'em Squamish Estuary WMA, highlighting the unique boardwalks and mountain vistas. However, many caution about frequent bear sightings, advising preparedness and respect for wildlife. Some mention ticks on inner trails.

"Very beautiful, but a LOT of bears at this time of year (mid October)... Each time I tried a new trail to get into the estuary I had to turn back because a bear was on or next to the path... They seem very used to people and were not afraid of me at all. No way to safely go around. Probably wouldn't recommend it at this time of year unless you're very experienced/comfortable with bears!"

Susan W

"Lovely hiking area with many beautiful vistas to behold!

As other reviewers have mentioned- you may encounter bears here! My wife and I came upon a juvenile black bear who seemed curious but not particularly a threat, crazy experience though!

Highly recommended!"

Jordan Bury

"Comfortable nature trail with water and mountain views. We were lucky to meet a bear."
