What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests often praise the Prince Arthur Hotel for its fantastic value, historic charm, and breathtaking lake views. The spacious rooms and included breakfast are frequently highlighted as positives. However, some reviews mention concerns about the hotel's atmosphere and other guests, suggesting potential issues with noise or the general clientele.
"This is an old hotel but I bet it would have a lot of stories to tell. It is well maintained with some old cosmetic issues, but nothing that would affect your stay. It was clean and quiet for the most part. Large spacious rooms that could use maybe a small table or something for putting the suitcases on. Of course you can hear some traffic. There is also a pool and a hot tub as well as a washer and dryer that uses coin if you are in need of one. Security people and cameras watch the parking lot and interior of the building so you feel safe. I would stay there again for sure. My daughter and I had a good nights rest to continue on our trip.
This hotel is a fair priced option with a decent stay.
Other hotels tend to raise their prices ridiculously and, take advantage of travelers who have no other choices.
Across the parking lot there is a boardwalk to go and look at the harbour which is beautiful."

"I recently stayed at this hotel with my family, and I have to say—it was a fantastic value for the price! While the building is definitely older and shows its age in places, that’s actually part of its charm. You can tell this place has a lot of history, and there’s something really cozy and nostalgic about that.
Our room was very spacious, and the view of the lake from our window was absolutely breathtaking—definitely one of the highlights of the stay. Breakfast in the morning was delicious, and we were especially impressed by the service. Our server, an older gentleman, was incredibly kind, attentive, and made us feel right at home. It’s rare to come across that level of genuine hospitality these days.
The kids enjoyed a swim in the pool, which was decent and a nice bonus amenity for a property like this.
If you’re looking for somewhere affordable with a touch of history, friendly service, and unbeatable views—this place delivers. We’d definitely stay again!"

"No idea why this hotel get's a low star rating - it is wonderful. Great downtown location, lovely view of the lake, and one of the best free breakfasts I've had.
The room is spacious, clean, and the bed so comfy. I love the feel of an older hotel like this rather than one of the chains.
The highest recommendation from me!
(Oh, and to top it off the front staff were very nice and charming.)"
