What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Riviera on Ward's Island offers a charming island escape with a lovely garden patio and a unique atmosphere, enhanced by its resident cat. While the food receives mixed reviews and can be pricey, the cocktails and overall vibe make it a pleasant spot for a relaxed visit, especially during warmer months.
"My advice - Avoid the chicken burger! Poor quality with a side of chips 😂 and for 17 dollars! Nachos were ok, plain and over priced, nothing special. Drinks were ok. The place inside is nice enough though, and the service was quick, nothing special. It looks better than it is. I would imagine it’s nice sat on the terrace in summer. Wish I read reviews before, however my husband was already sat in the bar drinking beer and eating nachos by the time I met up with him, and since there are not that many places to eat out of season. If I had known I would have skipped lunch. Would I visit here again, no."

Love the waitstaff and I love the bartender!
It's such a cute gem. The back is the restaurant serving up some great eats while you stare at some great lake views, the front of the restaurant is the bar where they are serving up some amazing drinks, and just further up is a cute little cafe operating out of a 1970's van. It's currently being controlled and run by this cat, and if he's in a good mood he might let you bud in line LOL
So when you're venturing off on Ward's Island and it's time to refuel and refresh then head on out to The Riviera and enjoy the great atmosphere and great vibe!"

"The food will satisfy your hunger, but it’s nothing to write home about. We tried the chicken burger and the gyros, and both were okay. Service was similarly unremarkable. That said, sitting outside comes with a special perk: a visit from the resident cat, which definitely adds some charm to the experience. And honestly, that might be the highlight!"
