It's lauded as a place that balances fun with professionalism, offering top-tier instruction without intimidation. The variety of classes and the focus on fundamentals are frequently highlighted as major positives.
"I absolutely love this place. I started taking classes here just over a month ago, and it has quickly become my second home. The staff and teachers are all amazing and so welcoming.
I’ve wanted to take hip hop classes for years, and the offerings here are incredible. The fundamentals classes are one of my favorite parts — they really drill in the basic movements, which makes a huge difference when taking choreography-based classes.
I also tried a private lesson with Kieth after taking a bunch of group classes to really hone in on my technique, and I got exactly what I needed from it. He is an amazing dancer, teacher, and person.
I can’t recommend The Underground Dance Centre enough!"

"I began with the trial Class, unsure of what to expect, but Angel’s teaching truly resonated with me. It made me feel both challenged and supported in the best way. I am grateful to have continued her classes consistently for over a month now. The atmosphere at the studio is very welcoming, and I truly appreciate the help received from the front desk team and Customer Experience Manager Shelby. Thank you, UDC TEAM, for creating such a positive experience."

Similarly, jazz funk classes provide a dynamic blend of technicality and performance. The studio also caters to niche interests, with offerings like K-POP classes, though some reviewers wished for more Latin styles.
Whether you're a complete beginner or looking to polish your technique, UDC emphasizes a welcoming and supportive environment. This approach, combined with top-tier instruction, makes UDC a standout destination for dance enthusiasts in Toronto.

The customer experience team, including individuals like Shelby, are often praised for their helpfulness. This focus on community extends to the instructors, who are not only skilled dancers but also dedicated teachers who make students feel both challenged and supported.
This emphasis on a positive and inclusive community makes UDC a highly recommended studio. It's a place where individuals can grow as dancers while being part of a supportive network, which is a significant draw for many who seek more than just technical instruction.
Finding the Right Class Level
For those with some dance background, beginner/intermediate classes offer a step up, introducing more complex choreography and techniques while still being accessible. These classes are perfect for individuals returning to dance after a hiatus or those who have mastered the basics and are ready for a new challenge.
Finally, intermediate and choreography-focused classes are for dancers with a solid foundation who are looking to refine their skills, learn intricate routines, and push their artistic boundaries. The key is to read class descriptions carefully and, if unsure, reach out to the studio for guidance on the best fit for your current skill level.
