Reviews Summary

Visitors appreciate Ucluelet's authentic fishing village charm and the stunning natural beauty surrounding the Harbour Walk Boat Basin. The marina is described as clean and well-managed, with friendly staff. However, some find the town's infrastructure, like sidewalks and transit, to be dated, and noise from idling boat engines can be an issue for light sleepers. Reddit

"We visited Ucluelet in August 2019 and enjoyed our stay in the fishing community of this village. The main occupation here is fishing, forestry and tourism. We walked down to the harbours and did a whale watching trip with Cameron Ocean Adventures who operate their vessels from nearby. The Ucluelet Small Craft Harbours had many small and medium boats anchored in the marinas nearby."

Vijay Shivdasani

"Convenient, though Ucluelet is stuck firmly in the 1950s in terms of its sidewalks and the same era for its transit, so a miserable walk to get anywhere. Good docks and power, harbourmaster is a genuinely great person. Kevin is super friendly (unlike some of his staff). Note that you'll be up real late if you're on B dock because of the restaurant, and that despite being in a climate emergency fishing boats still leave their engines idling instead of hooking up to shore power so sleep is somewhat impossible if there is a fishery that is open. Showers only get a cursory clean once a day, and need a serious scrub. Coin op doesn't "op." Laundry is fantastic, bathroom clean and good conditions. The public dock on Otter Street doesn't have these amenities but also doesn't have a fleet of idling, filthy diesel engines either."

Colin Stepney

"Waterfront spot to sit and enjoy the mountain views and hey, if you wait long enough, you may even see a pair of Orcas go by😏🐳"
