What's the best fish and chips in Victoria? Going for one day literally for this!

Going to Victoria for one day in June. While we're there we want to have the best fish and chips! Constantly on the hunt since my favourite place changed their recipe on the island. I like crispy beer battered halibut that's super soft/salty/juicy on the inside and…

Reviews Summary

Fisherman's Wharf in Victoria is celebrated for its vibrant, colorful floating homes and lively waterfront atmosphere. Visitors consistently praise the delicious, fresh seafood, particularly the fish and chips, and enjoy spotting playful seals. While parking can be a challenge and a bit pricey, the unique charm and scenic beauty make it a highly recommended stop.

"Fisherman’s Wharf in Victoria is a must-visit, especially if you’re with family. The location is simply beautiful — right by the water, with colorful floating homes and a laid-back atmosphere. It’s a great place to stroll around, take pictures, and enjoy the ocean breeze.

We stopped at Barb’s Fish & Chips, one of the well-known spots there, and the food did not disappoint. The fish was super fresh, crispy on the outside, and juicy inside. They offer a good variety too — fish, prawns, calamari, and even options for those who don’t eat seafood. The portion size was good and everything tasted great.

There’s plenty of outdoor seating, and it's perfect for families with kids. Watching the boats and sometimes even seals near the docks makes the visit even more fun. Overall, a great place to relax, eat, and enjoy the scenic views of Victoria."

"Such a cute, beautiful spot to check out! You can see fish, see enemies, jelly fish and sometimes seals! Cute little shops and some good restaurants! It was busy but everyone was kind. The homes along the dock were so cute and the residents were so sweet! Definitely check this place out! Parking is a little bit tricky to find. It costed $10 for 2 hours of parking but still worth it!"

"Fisherman’s Wharf in Victoria never fails to impress me with its colorful, lively, almost fiesta-like atmosphere. 🌈🎉 I’ve been here multiple times and each visit feels just as fun and vibrant as the first. My very first time was with Aunt Fely and Uncle Tony, and most recently I came back with my co-travel nurse Claire. It’s the kind of place where you can stroll around, soak in the waterfront charm, and enjoy the unique floating homes, food stalls, and fresh seafood. 🦞🌊

What I love most is the energy — it’s relaxed but festive, making it a perfect spot to bring family, friends, or even colleagues for a memorable day out. Definitely one of Victoria’s gems that keeps me coming back."
