What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Hikers consistently praise the absolutely breathtaking and spectacular views from Vimy Peak, calling it one of the most beautiful experiences. While the hike is long and intense, most agree the rewarding summit views over Waterton and into the US make every step worthwhile. Some find the initial hike less exciting compared to other summits in the park.
"We did not cross the water so it was a very long hike, 30KM according to my GPS tracker. 14KM of it is very flat and could have been done with a bike. There is a steep section near the top. The views are amazing."
Ron Strauss
"Great hike but long from the street (~ 25 km), but it's worth it. First prairie, then forest and a steep climb at the end.
Amazing view over waterton, crypt lake and into the US (Glacier National Park)"
Robert Schlager
"The first 7 kms of wishbone trail is full of surprises like beautiful wildflowers and an adolescent Grizzly bear and Young Buck deer before you reach the trail for Vimy Peak and ascend the 5 kms to the summit. You get a full view of the surrounding rocky mountains to the US border to the south and a glimpse of Crypt lake. Overall I got a spectacular view of Waterton Area."
