What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the unique spiral staircase and the rugged beauty of the lakeside trail, often calling it a favorite hike. The Corran Ruins add historical charm. However, be prepared for significant bug issues at the shore during warm weather and note the new parking fees.
"Passed by the ruins and went down the staircase which led us further to the lake. I’m not sure if there’s any trail when you arrive at the lake, though we did follow the trail at alltrails (spirit rock conservation trail) which you just make a turn before the stairs, and its around a 2km hike. Pretty well marked and you get a few spots looking out the lake. Bonus was the picnic area right next to the parking where we had our lunch."

"the beautiful and well-made spiral staircase down to the water is SO cool. a really neat addition to a trail. this trail connects to the bruce trail and goes through the corran ruins as well. it is now paid parking unfortunately, but still worth it. disclaimer, the bugs at the shore are horrific in the heat. do NOT come here to hang out at the shore if it’s hot. come prepared with bug spray and possibly bug nets for parts of the trial."

"Great trail below the spiral staircase hugging the lake. Rugged beauty. The sound of the waves made this my favourite hike in the County."
