What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Rum Point for its beautiful views, calm waters ideal for families, and the iconic Mudslide cocktail. While some find the beach itself less pristine than other island spots, its relaxed atmosphere and proximity to unique activities like bioluminescent tours make it a worthwhile destination for unwinding.
"Beautiful view of the beach and great restaurant on the very quiet NW side of the island. The only thing is a couple of barrels that say Rum Point. Don't drive out of your way and be disappointed unless you want to unwind for a day."
Vicky Terry
"Beautiful look out point. The water isn’t as nice as some of the other locations around the island but that’s only because some of the other locations are overly nice. If this was any other place like Florida it would be the nicest beach. lol."
Evan Steger
"There are 3 different places to stay on Rum Point: The Retreat (Owner rentals via Airbnb and VRBO), Rum Point Resort and Rum Point Club. Each one is different. This review is for the area of Rum Point, not the places to stay.
The beach is wonderful and folks come from everywhere on the island to use it and to snorkel. Safe for kids with a very gradual entrance and almost flat surf and an abundance of turtles, rays and fish to view. Red Sail sports excursions leave right from the pier. Simply a great place to stay.
We stayed at The Retreat via VRBO. We occupied 2 units #13 and #17. 17 was amazing. 13 was awful... nothing comfortable, 3rd floor walk up, old, dated, dark colors and decor. We do not recommend #13 but certainly the area and #17."
