What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find the Papa Vaka Petroglyphs to be an interesting and well-organized site, often enjoying the solitude it provides. The visibility of the carvings is a key highlight, especially when visited at optimal times of day or after rain. While signage could be improved, the clear paths and unique historical importance make it a worthwhile stop.
"Interesting carvings, well organized site.
We were almost alone there, with only one more car visiting the site - so if you will make it there chances are you will have some time to admire the carvings in solitude."
Aleksandra Kłapcińska
"To see much detail at all, it helps to visit this site when the sun is at a lower angle, either early in the morning around 9 am, or later in the afternoon. It had just rained a few minutes before we showed up, so I think that helped add to the visibility of the images as well."
Anthony Colbourne
"Like the rest of the objects on the Island, unique and of archeological importance. You can see the petroglyphs well. I only wish the signs with descriptions were restored as they look a bit dated and rather shabby."
