What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors consistently praise the breathtaking 360° panoramic views of Santiago and the Andes mountains, especially during sunset. The quick elevator ride and the overall experience are highly recommended, though some find the on-site dining options pricey. It's considered a must-see for anyone visiting the city.
"We bought the tickets first but we could enter anytime when we are ready. So we could go for a walk at the mall first. The flexibility of the entrance is really convenient and stress free for us. We stayed from 6.30-8.30pm and managed to have dinner at the top too. Each area was informative as well and the view is fantastic. It is also a family friendly place and it is spacious for people to move about too. Highly recommended if you have 1.5-2 hours to spare."

"Must see if you are visiting Santiago! It's worth the money, and the trip up the elevator to the 61st floor is extremely fast. The 360° views of the mountains surrounding the city are spectacular. The best time to visit is right before sunset! The building is part of a shopping mall, so it's a little tricky to locate if you're not familiar with the location. There are plenty of signs."

The Sky-High Experience: What to Expect
Visitors often highlight the breathtaking scenery, especially during sunset, when the city lights begin to twinkle and the sky is painted with vibrant colors. On clear days, the visibility is exceptional, allowing you to appreciate the full scale of Santiago and its natural surroundings. Some visitors have noted that the experience can be enhanced by visiting on less crowded days, such as Mondays or Tuesdays, to allow for more personal time to soak in the views and take photographs.
Beyond the views, Sky Costanera is part of the larger Costanera Center complex, which includes shops, restaurants, and cafes. While the observation deck itself offers a bar and sometimes special events like 'Sky Sunset' on summer Wednesdays, it's worth noting that dining options at the very top can be pricey. Many visitors recommend checking the weather forecast beforehand to ensure the best possible experience, as cloudy conditions can significantly impact the panoramic views.
Navigating Costs and Value
Many travelers find the experience to be 'worth the money' due to the spectacular and unique views offered. However, some Reddit discussions suggest that for the view alone, alternatives like Cerro San Cristóbal might offer a similar experience for free or at a lower cost, though without the same height. When considering the value, factor in the convenience of the fast elevator ride and the 360-degree perspective from such a significant height.
Additional costs can include food and drinks at the bar or restaurant located on the observation deck. While convenient, these are often noted as being on the pricier side. Some visitors suggest bringing your own snacks or planning to dine elsewhere in the extensive Costanera Center mall to manage expenses. Booking tickets in advance online is also a tip that can streamline your visit and potentially avoid longer queues.
Photography Tips for Stunning Shots
On clear days, the 360-degree panoramic views allow for sweeping shots of the city, the Andes, and even aerial perspectives of the surrounding neighborhoods. Photographers can capture everything from the urban sprawl to the majestic snow-capped peaks. Drone footage, while not from within the observation deck, has also showcased the impressive scale of the building and its surroundings.
While personal photography is generally welcomed, it's always a good idea to be mindful of other visitors. If you plan on professional or commercial photography, it's best to inquire about any necessary permits or guidelines beforehand. Even on cloudy days, unique and atmospheric shots can be achieved, capturing the mood of the city from above.
