Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Magallanes National Reserve for its beautiful hiking trails, stunning natural scenery, and friendly, helpful staff. The accessibility from Punta Arenas and the well-maintained paths make it a highly recommended day trip. Some trails may be closed seasonally, which can be a minor inconvenience.

"A beautiful national reservation near Punta Arenas where you can experience some beautiful hikes. They offer different hikes for walking, mountain biking and in the winter even langlaufen! The scenery is beautiful and the hikes are doable. The longest hike is 9.6 kilometers, around 11 if you add the last additional viewpoint which adds 1.5km to your distance. The trail goes up and down and has some tricky bits but nothing too challenging. It takes around 5 hours to complete so bring some snacks and enough hydration. The viewpoints are great and provide a lovely sight upon the city, water and forest.

The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful with tips. The check in process is easy and quick. Remember to do the check out as well! Ask for the wifi if you need to book an uber! The staff is happy to help :)"

"This is an excellent national park with dense, ancient Southern Beech woodland. There are some huge trees, fascinating fungi, and birds such as the Austral Parakeet here. The 10km trail was very well signposted and staff at the trail head were professional and knowledgable, even about the scientific name of the orchid species we saw on the trail. There is strong wifi at the trail head. The entrance fee was CLP7800, well worth it!"
