Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise Cerro San Cristobal for its breathtaking panoramic views of Santiago, describing it as a beautiful, peaceful, and essential stop. Many enjoy the funicular ride and the opportunity for light hiking to the summit. Some note that signage can be poor and recommend planning the descent carefully to avoid long walks on roads.

"This place was absolutely beautiful and very peaceful. I enjoyed many aspects. I truly wish I had more time to stay there. Lots to see and do in that area. Till we meet again.
I WOULD RECOMMEND"

Cindy L

"We rode the Funicular up and had great views. Had a snack and did the short hike up to the statue. The breeze was nice and the shade felt so good on a hot day. We decided to not take the funicular down and instead walked down thinking it would be a quick and easy way down and get our legs moving. It was about 2-2.5km walk down the road as we couldn’t find a trail to take us straight down and had to follow the road. We should have bought the round-trip funicular ticket. Oh well, it was a nice day so we made it safely, just a bit hot. Really great views from the top. Viva Santiago!"

Erica Cuttitta

"I went for a 7 AM run and was treated to an incredible sunrise view-it’s the perfect way to start the day. The trail was already a bit busy at that hour, but it’s very walkable and enjoyable for runners and hikers alike.

The views are stunning, and I’d say the trail is a moderate effort, challenging enough to feel accomplished but still accessible for most. Best of all, it’s free to explore! Definitely worth checking out if you’re in Santiago."
