The botanical gardens were always my favorite weekend getaway that wasn't *too* far away. After living in the heart of Beijing for months or years the garden's lack of noise always takes me aback. Especially when you go further back in the park. Same goes for the Olympic…

Visitors praise the Beijing Botanical Garden for its stunning seasonal beauty, particularly the cherry blossoms and autumn colors, and its vast, well-maintained grounds. While some note that certain areas might have limited access, the affordable entry fee and the overall natural splendor make it a highly recommended escape from the city bustle.
"I visited the gardens in early April, as the flowers were blooming. A word of advice, don't go during the weekend, it's absolutely rammed. The highlight of the gardens is the lake. You can take a ride in a boat, they have pedal boats and boats with engines. Go for the pedal boats, get some exercise! You can man a boat by yourself but it's a lot of work. There is a small bridge you can steer the boat through. The water is clean and the scenery is great. I think it's 300 RMB for a 30 minute hire and 400 RMB for the engine powered boat. It's expensive compared to the fees you pay for many attractions in Beijing but definitely worth it."

"Numerous palnts species and geological landscapes. Not to mention the former residence of a famous writer Cao Xueqin. Very fair admission price for a huge park like this. Also you can hike on the trails hide in the mountrains by going straight to the end of the cherry valley. What's more, historic sites like temples and inscriptions could be found in this botanical garden."

Located at the foot of the Western Hills, the garden showcases a wide variety of plants from across China and around the world, including stunning seasonal flower displays. It’s an ideal spot for leisurely walks, photography, or learning about horticulture, making it a must-visit for nature lovers in Beijing."
