Visitors praise Qingbi Stream Cangshan for its stunning high-altitude scenery and the convenience of cable car access, making it a good introduction to mountain hiking. However, navigating the multiple cable car routes and managing altitude sickness can be challenging for some. Planning ahead regarding cable car operating hours and choosing the right ascent route is crucial for a smooth experience.
"Scenic hike above 3500 altitude.
It takes about 20 mins for cable car to go up to the peak. Good beginner high altitude hiking experience.
We needed a tube of oxygen for 2 people to share. Full paved trail loop takes about 2 hours. Take in slowly, breathe in the clean cloud."

"We was going to go Ximatan cable station to reach Cangshan peak, but we chose wrong destination. So, we started our Cangshan trip from Gantong cable station. We walk around 5km and climbed more than 1000 stairways, very tired. Unfortunately, we cannot reach Cangshan peak, as Ximatan cable car was stopped to carry tourists up to Cangshan peak at 3PM, too early."

"Cang Shan is too complicated not only for foreigners. When search on the Map, there are too many Cang Shan points of interest. Let's clear this out here to help everyone to make there selections.
Cang Shan geographically has 19 mountain peaks and 18 valleys/streams forming the Cang Shan Mountain Range.
Cang Shan National Park operates three routes with cable cars. One is at far north need the three pagoda temple. One is in the middle (just off West Gate of Dali Ancient City, so is the closest). One is the Southest, it is this Map Site I am writing here.
The Northern one is old and less view. The middle is old also and most expensive as it broken up as two sections. However, this route brought you to the highest point of 4000 meters above sea level( not Erhai sea level as Yunnan is already 2000 meters above sea level). The third one is the newest and has the best view and point of interests in general. As well, from this route, one can access to the middle route by trail walk 4-5 km and op to take cable car up to 4000 meters or return to Dali Ancient City West Gate.
So it is up to you to decide which way to go. My pictures and videos are all taken at this Southern Route."
