"This is a park that is very popular with the locals especially on weekend. The park is a pleasant place to walk around and learn a little of the opium war. The Qing empire built these paotai (gun embankment) to defence against the British. There are three open air gun embankments and a larger one with multiple guns. There is also a maritime museum too. This would be a perfect companion trip to the Opium War Museum not too far away."
