Reviews Summary

Visitors find Stalin Park to be a pleasant and historically significant riverside park, offering a blend of Russian and Chinese cultural influences. The Flood Control Memorial Tower is a notable landmark, and the park provides scenic views of the Songhua River. It's a popular spot for leisurely walks and experiencing local life, especially during the vibrant winter season.

"We took a slow, relaxing walk from Central Street and St. Sophia Church to the Harbin Flood Control Victory Memorial Tower—also known as the Flood Control Memorial Tower or Fountain Monument. It’s located at the north end of Zhongyang Street, right in Stalin Park by the Songhua River.

The walk itself was quite nice, with the lively street gradually giving way to the more open, peaceful park area. When we reached the tower, our guide shared the story behind it—how it was built to commemorate the efforts of the people of Harbin during the major flood in 1957. It was interesting to hear how the community came together during such a challenging time.

Learning the history behind the monument definitely made the visit more meaningful. It wasn’t just a quick photo stop—it gave us a deeper sense of the city and its past."

"This park is a hot tourist spot, always busy, we went there on a weekday afternoon, it was really busy, we loved the hustle and bustle. It is along the Songhua river, a lot of people just sit on the steps, enjoy the scenery. There are many restaurants and shopping plazas around there, very convenient"

Jenny Luo

"When I first went to this place, I saw the combination of Chinese and Russian cultures. It was very beautiful. Along the way, there is Zhongyang Street, a street with many restaurants and souvenir shops related to Russia. The food there is very delicious. There are both sweet and savory shops. There are police officers guarding every inch of the place, so you can be sure that there will be no unexpected incidents."
