We headed over to Hangzhou from Shanghai to visit the Longjing tea plantations during harvest season (late March to early April). 🌱 We took a taxi to the first village, Meijiawu, which was my favourite. The endless fields of tea bushes and the workers chatting among them were breathtaking. As we went during the week there were no tourists other than us. We had fresh tea in the village overlooking...

"Visited the tea plantation here. Such a serene and zen place to walk around. Many tea houses serving food and famous 龙井茶."

Justin Chew

"Not far from Hangzhou west lake is Longjin tea area, where you can find many tea fields, nice little hills and fresh, very fresh tea.

Well worth a visit. I believe I paid about 30 or 40 rmb from west lake by Didi taxi on the way there, on the way back I used a rental Mobike, as it is mainly downhill and an easy way to go back to west lake.

There are also frequent busses, do check but I thought it is bus no 27.
Can be done also as a daytrip from Shanghai."

Alex Baar

"Great. Take a hat with you please you'll need it. Food and tea is a bit more expensive than usual as it's a very touristy area and this is like "the best tea in the world""
