Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Museum of Art Pudong for its striking modern architecture and its prime location offering spectacular views of The Bund, especially at night. The diverse exhibitions, ranging from international masterpieces to contemporary local artists, are a significant draw, though their appeal can be subjective. While the museum is still finding its rhythm, its elegant design and unique offerings make it a worthwhile visit. Reddit

"A museum with a picturesque view of The Bund. Visited to view the paintings of the prolific painter, Chen YiFei. Absolutely stunning works!"

VL Kong

"I was excited to visit this museum because of its designer (Jean Nouvel), and while it’s no Louvre, it certainly stands out for its architectural elegance. The clean, minimalist design is striking, with a focus on open spaces and natural light. The museum opens till 9pm which means I could go on a museum date in the night time for the very first time!

The museum has four floors, each dedicated to a single exhibition. The spaciousness is impressive, allowing each collection to immerse visitors fully. The exhibitions themselves are hit-or-miss depending on your taste, but there are gems to be found. I loved the showcase of local contemporary artist Cao Fei, whose works are thought-provoking. Another standout was Olafur Eliasson’s Double Lighthouse Projection, a mesmerizing installation worth its staggering 100M price tag. The interplay of light, air, and motion is pure magic✨

4 stars for an inspiring space that’s still finding its rhythm but is well worth your time!"

Elaine Neo (梁雁婷)

"It is new and nicely designed building with mostly temporary exhibitions. We were lucky to see to see paintings from Orse, France. The venue has everything for a quality time spent. You can see a MAP logo from far away, what makes it easier to find the building. We didn't buy the tickets online, but in high season you can hear SOLD OUT in the afternoon of weekend day. Written in July 2025"
