Reviews Summary

Visitors praise 1865 Creative Park for its unique blend of historical architecture and modern artistic expression, offering a fascinating glimpse into China's industrial past. The well-preserved buildings and creative installations make it a visually appealing and educational destination. Some visitors note that while the park is free to enter, specific exhibitions may have fees.

"The predecessor of Chenguang Machinery Factory (Factory 307) is the Jinling Manufacturing Bureau built by Li Hongzhang in 1865 during the Westernization Movement of the Qing Dynasty. It is known as the "cradle of national military industry" in China and ranks first among the four major arsenals in the country. In 1928, Jinling Machinery Manufacturing Bureau was renamed Jinling Arsenal. At the end of 1952, Shanxi Changzhi 307 Factory moved to Nanjing and merged with the Ordnance General Factory, called the state-owned 307 Factory. During the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, the factory produced large quantities of artillery shells and other weapons and ammunition. In April 1957, the state-owned Chenguang Machinery Factory was adopted as the second factory name and used publicly. In March 1980, it was renamed "Nanjing Chenguang Machinery Factory". There are 9 Qing Dynasty buildings and 19 Republic of China buildings in the park, which is like a modern Chinese industrial museum. It is now a cultural science and technology industrial park founded by the Qinhuai District Government and Chenguang Group. It covers an area of 210,000 square meters and was opened on September 19, 2007."
